You have a lot going on, so we have designed your Home Page to bring together all of the key action items, events, and reminders that are important right now. Your Home Page is a lot like a very smart assistant that knows what you need to be working on and keeps you informed. It knows each person’s role and activities and so it can intelligently gather everything you need to know.
Not only that, but your Home Page can be configured like other views by rearranging, shrinking, and dismissing elements until it fits your work and your style perfectly. The Home Page is also where you can access our new Reporting platform to bring even more value to your daily activities.
Notifications - Work flow - Reminders
One of the most important results of IP Portfolio 5’s refined organization and process is keeping every member of your team on top of their work flow using different types of reminders. Actions are like personal “To Do’s” that can be linked to any item in the system and can be set to notify any person or group of people. Events intelligently inform key people of major life-cycle events for any type of item, and can be set to repeat on a schedule. IP Events and Notifications allow you to docket any deadline or event for patents and other IP, and include a range of automatic patent docketing deadlines. Agreement Events keep your team on top of your responsibilities for agreements and compliance. In addition to seeing all reminders in their Home Page, your people can also choose to receive their reminders by E-Mail. The result is order, with everyone staying informed of their work flow and on top of your business.
Documents
IP Portfolio 5 finally gives you a way to capture all of the documents that your business generates from patent drafts, to agreements, to key communications. A complete document management system is integrated within the system to allow you to attach any kind of electronic files and documents, virtually anywhere throughout the system. Attached documents may be of any format, and can be linked to any number of elements including inventions, IP, agreements, actions, events, and more. When you attach a document a copy is transferred to the server, indexed for searching, and stored in a secure, backed-up location. The result is that the documents that you need are exactly where you need them and expect to find them. This is the ultimate document solution for IP management.
Searching
Quickly find what you are looking for using the powerful search engine built into IP Portfolio 5. In a single search you can search everything in the entire system, or restrict your search only to certain sections. Search results appear almost instantly and are relevance ranked so you get the best hits at the top. There is both a general searching mode and an advanced mode for detailed, field-by-field searches on a specific section. Search by any field in the system including ranges for numbers and dates. An optional quick search bar is also part of nearly every screen to make finding things even faster. The system also searches the full text of your documents!
Reporting
To truly transcend you need a powerful reporting platform that empowers your people to create and deliver sophisticated, compelling, and timely reports to the constituents that need them. IP Portfolio 5 offers a breakthrough in reporting capabilities by leveraging Microsoft’s™ Reporting Services™ platform. Users can create their own reports directly on the web, share them in a variety of formats including Excel™ and PDF,™ protect them with security, schedule their delivery, and even subscribe people to them so that they can receive them on a regular basis.
