A PDF splitter is used to split a PDF file into pieces. You might do this if you only want one or two (or more) pages from the document and want to delete the rest, or if the PDF is too large for what you want to do with it.
This may sound like a complicated procedure, but it is actually very easy to do. There are several online and offline options that work in just a few clicks. In fact, you may already have a program installed on your computer that can do the job.
Most of the options in the list below give you a few options: you can 'split' the document into multiple files, with each page of the original becoming its own PDF, you can extract one (or more) specific pages, or you can delete certain parts of the PDF, leaving only the part of the original you want.
When you extract specific pages from the PDF, you are often given the option to split it in two, so that one PDF contains the first half of the pages and the other contains the second half. For example, you can split a 100-page document so that you have two separate PDFs, each with 50 pages.
