Apple has added a lot of useful new features and quality improvements to tvOS 17, and has really taken advantage of the capabilities of the latest hardware. New features include FaceTime support, a better Control Center, and a new way to use your Apple TV with a HomePod. Apple has even added a way to find a lost Siri remote! Let’s take a look at what else tvOS 17 has to offer.

Apple TV Hidden Features Tips & Tricks – tvOS 17

One of the most notable changes with tvOS 17 is FaceTime support, powered by Apple’s Continuity Camera feature. Continuity Camera was initially introduced as a way to quickly move FaceTime calls from your iPhone’s camera to your Mac, but has been adopted here to add FaceTime support to your Apple TV.

When you start FaceTime on your Apple TV, you’ll see a prompt to select your preferred iPhone or iPad. That will generate a prompt on the selected iPhone or iPad where you’ll have to accept the Continuity Camera connection. You can then use FaceTime on your Apple TV with your iPad or iPhone as your camera. You can even use this feature with Center Stage to keep the camera pointed at you as you move around.

FaceTime support isn’t available for everyone. To use FaceTime as a camera, you’ll need an Apple TV 4K, second generation or later, and an iPhone or iPad.
