If Skype isn't working, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem and get everything working again.

There could be a problem with your microphone or audio settings, which means you can’t hear the other person, or they can’t hear you. Or maybe you can’t sign in to Skype because you’ve forgotten your password. Another reason could be that your external speakers or microphone are no longer working and you need new hardware. Or maybe Skype isn’t connecting because the service itself is having problems.
Regardless of the problem, there are really only a few things worth trying, which I have described below.
