One thing about a good hair trend is that if it was a trend once, it will be a trend again with the modern twist. Layers were the fashion of the 90s, but now in 2024 we are returning and reviving the trend of airy, wispy, choppy and feathered layered hair.

For a long time, layers were a style that many of my clients strayed from. What many clients didn't realize was how much shape, volume and texture could compliment and enhance our natural silhouette. Typically, as a stylist, when I add layers I do this to shape, remove volume, create movement in the hair, add volume, or all of the above.

Layers are customizable depending on how loud or soft my client wants their hairstyle to be. If my client opts for a more invisible and blended look, as a stylist I know that longer layers and less volume are the best choice to create softness in the style. While, if my client asks for boldness in the cut, I am here to create movement in the hair with short to medium choppy, wispy or flowy layers.
