Searching for pictures of a dog is easy. You search for it on Google or whatever search engine you prefer, select the “Image Search” function and boom – you have multiple pages of pictures of dogs and puppies to look at. But what if you already have a picture on your iPhone that you want to know more about?
How to Perform a Reverse Image Search on iPhone or iPad
That's where reverse image search comes in. In the next post, we'll explain how to do it on your iPhone.
As the name suggests, Reverse image search is the process of searching the content of an image across other images on the web so that you get relevant results that are similar to the image you searched for. The technology can save you a significant amount of time and energy as you no longer have to search for the right set of words to describe something you are looking for as the search engine does that for you.
Some services let you directly reverse image search by uploading them from your library, while others require you to enter the web addresses of the images you want to search for more. In either case, the search engine analyzes the image in question, compares it to other similar images, and then returns matching images and more information about who uploaded them where.
