I never thought about going gray. I mean, who in their right mind would deliberately sign up to look old? Not me. But then something happened. My gray hair started coming faster, my hair appointments became more frequent, and one day I caught myself thinking, "What if I stopped dying my hair?" And then I did it. The negative stigma surrounding going gray is very loud. Today I want to tone that down and turn up the volume on all the benefits that come with going gray.
20 Benefits of Going Gray (Toss Your Dye for Good)
Anyone want an extra $21,000?! For the sake of argument, let's say you dye your hair every four weeks and each appointment costs a total of $60. Now let's say you're also on track to dye your hair for the next 30 years. That's how much money you'll save, sister. $21,000. Now go buy a new car to celebrate.
By the same argument, if you go to the salon every four weeks for a 2-hour appointment and continue to do so for the next 30 years, that amounts to 30 days. Stop dying your hair and you'll get a whole month of your life back. And then you haven't even taken into account driving to and from the hair salon.
I'm part of a Facebook group called The Gray Book with over 6,000 women who are all going gray. There have been tons of before and after photos shared in this group and I can confidently say that when women stop dying their hair dark and allow lighter gray tones to frame their faces, their complexion becomes 100% brighter!
