If I were ever forced to relive last year, I would only do so through Max Garkavyy's web app, 2020 Game.
My top 10 games of 2020
The 10-minute experience took my player through some of the most significant events we saw last year, including the Australian bushfires, the coronavirus pandemic, a stock market crash, quarantine and that weird rush for tissues, an election, and more. I found the game to be a success because it was lighthearted, while still touching on some important trends from 2020.
And I'm not the only one who's enjoyed the game. Garkavyy said in a video interview with Lifewire that the game is played worldwide, with over 2 million plays.
Oddly enough, half of those players come from Spain. Garkavyy isn't sure why the game has such a big following in Spain, but he did say that many Spanish newspapers have reported on the game's success, which has helped.
