In late March, Atlanta FaZe reclaimed the CDL throne by capturing the title up for grabs at Major Two in Miami. And now, after a roughly two-week hiatus, competitive CoD action resumes with online matches from April 12th to May 12th to set the stage for Major Three in Toronto from May 16th to May 19th.
During this recent break in action, five CDL franchises have opted to make roster moves in hopes of potentially revitalizing their teams for the second half of the season. The Boston Breach notably dropped veterans SlasheR and Asim for Beans and Pentagrxm, while Minnesota’s RØKKR also made a two-player move, bringing in Gunless and Standy to replace Owakening and Vivid. The Miami Heretics give ReeaL another chance to start after he ran into visa issues with Carolina earlier in the season, JoeDeceives returns to the Los Angeles Thieves’ lineup, and rookie 04 makes his CDL debut for the Seattle Surge in place of former World Champion Arcitys.
In addition to these roster changes, the CDL map set has been adjusted. New maps Vista and 6 Star have been added to the rotation for Hardpoint in place of Invasion and Skidrow, while 6 Star will also replace Terminal for Search and Destroy. And over the next month, all 12 CDL franchises will get the chance to test out these new maps in their seven qualifying matches to determine their seeding for Major Three in Toronto.
