The 408 Request Timeout error is an HTTP status code that means that the request you sent to the website server, for example a request to load a web page, took longer than the website's server was willing to wait. In other words, your connection to the website "timed out."

Try the web page again by selecting the Refresh button or retrying the URL in the address bar. Often a slow connection causes a delay that results in the 408 Request Timeout error, and this is usually only temporary. Retrying the page will usually be successful.

Your internet connection may be causing delays in loading pages. Try visiting another website such as Google or Yahoo. If the pages load as quickly as you are used to, the problem causing the timeout error is likely with the website.

However, if all websites are slow, it can have a negative impact on your internet connection. Run an internet speed test to benchmark your current bandwidth or contact your internet provider for technical support.
