If you’re looking for fibre-like speeds but don’t want the cost, or want blazing fast internet in an area where it’s currently unavailable, 5G WiFi could be for you.
Is 5G internet at home better than fiber optic?
While it's not yet available everywhere, there are several reasons to consider using 5G at home if and when it rolls out in your area.
In the same way you have WiFi in your home today, either through an existing wireless service such as microwave or satellite, or through a direct wired connection such as cable or fiber, 5G can deliver internet to your home through a direct wireless connection.
5G Wi-Fi is simply Wi-Fi that provides internet access from a 5G tower. One way this works is through a base station that wirelessly connects directly to a fixed terminal on the premises. This is called fixed wireless access.
