After twelve long years, 7 Days to Die will finally leave Early Access in June 2024. While this change has been eagerly anticipated, many are questioning whether this is the right move for the game at this time.
THE NEW DESERT! | 7 Days to Die 1.0
As someone who has played many Alphas of the game, I can say that 7 Days to Die has undergone a lot of changes from where it started 12 years ago. The 1.0 launch comes with major art changes (I'm excited for all the new animals they keep teasing on the 7 Days to Die Discord) and a ton of optimizations. But even with these positive changes, is it enough to leave Early Access?
Fans were expecting Alpha 22 in 2024, but instead we get version 1.0 and an official launch. This is something I didn’t really think I’d see in the next few years, so it comes as a big surprise, but I’m not sure how pleasant it is.
To be honest, this change feels a bit rushed, despite Fun Pimps co-founder Richard Huenink claiming that they always planned for Alpha 22 to be version 1.0. One Reddit user, Alt_SWR, said: 'I mean, technically it's a departure from EA, but if you ask me, it's not. A lot of the MAJOR features will be missing from the "1.0" release.'
