League of Legends Swarm is the latest PvE mode introduced by Riot Games. You and your friends are tasked with defending the planet from the Primordians. Along the way, you will encounter new champions to unlock, enemies to defeat, and ultimately the final boss.

Jumping into a new mode can be daunting. You might not know what to do and feel a little overwhelmed. This guide will help you understand the entry-level skills you’ll need to get started in Swarm, from the new movement system to how weapons work.

Moving your character in Swarm is very different than traditional League of Legends. You use WASD to move your character while the mouse aims where your champion will attack. You’ll need to think quickly as the game progresses, as hordes of Primordians surround you from all sides. Precise movement will get you out of trouble as the difficulty increases.

Pressing the E or R button will use one of the champion’s two unique abilities. Pressing R will use the champion’s ultimate ability, a unique ability with a much longer cooldown than the E you’ll use often. Make sure your mouse is pointing in the desired direction for these abilities, or your ability will be wasted.
