Yongnuo has created an Android camera, complete with a large sensor and a mature lens. What if Apple did the same, with an iOS camera?
This new Apple Home camera really surprised me
Smartphones have tiny lenses and even tinier sensors, making them inferior to almost any dedicated camera. But they have a secret weapon. There’s a computer inside. In the case of the iPhone, that computer is absurdly powerful and has a whole section of the chip dedicated to photography. Now imagine what Apple could do with that power in a regular mirrorless camera.
"Apple has firmly established itself as the brand of choice for high-end artists and creators, and moving into high-end photography would only reinforce that. They have the product design and UX skills to make an incredibly sleek, user-friendly product, and their entire device ecosystem is heavy on beautiful displays that would make these photos pop," Pixoul's Devon Fata told Lifewire via email.
First, let’s look at the kind of camera we’re talking about. The body would be about the same size as an iPhone, only thicker to accommodate a larger sensor (the larger the sensor, the further away the lens needs to be), physical shutter and lens mount. There would be some buttons and dials, and of course a beautiful retina touchscreen on the back.
