Samsung TV Plus, the free streaming service for Samsung Smart TV customers, is getting another major update, this time with a whole lot more stuff and kitchen appliance compatibility. That’s right, you can watch your favorite shows (or new ones) on compatible Family Hub refrigerators, specifically models 2.0 or later that were released after 2017.
In addition to the refrigerator film festival possibilities, Samsung TV Plus is also getting a bit of a visual overhaul with a new logo and a new UI option. While the basic structure of the menus doesn’t change, the app is getting a new dark theme that Samsung says will make browsing easier thanks to improved visibility.
Then there are the many, many shows that Samsung plans to add to its lineup. U.S. viewers can look forward to popular shows like Law & Order Special Victims Unit, NCIS and the BBC’s Top Gear. But Europe hasn’t been forgotten either. The U.K. is getting America’s Got Talent (2019-2022), and Das Boot has come to Germany in 8K. Meanwhile, Australia and New Zealand can enjoy a new Throwback TV channel, which will house favorite shows from the ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s in one place.
