Aaron Weiss is a former freelancer for Lifewire who specialized in open source software and Internet culture. As a technology writer and developer, he believes that open source software powers much of the Internet's critical infrastructure.

Weiss is the author of eight books, including "The Complete Idiot's Guide to JavaScript" and "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Protecting Yourself on the Internet."
In addition to writing for UMB Web Technology on the "Enterprise Efficiency" blog since 2010, Weiss has also published work in Internet World, Internet.com, netWorker, Wired, and the New York Times.
Weiss earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Cornell University.
