An Acer executive warns that the current global chip shortage could delay laptop production until at least early next year.
Infineon CEO: Chip shortage will last 'well into 2022'
According to Guardian Australia, Tiffany Huang, co-chief operating officer of Acer, said that the pace of the global chip shortage cannot meet consumer demand. Huang noted that Acer "can only meet 50% of global demand."
“It will remain slow until the first or second quarter of next year,” she said in the interview published Monday.
“We have a serious shortage and it's not just about every family having a device to use, but about everyone needing a device to work or study.”
