Rumor has it that planet Earth can only provide a limited amount of resources, and that humans have done everything they can to gobble them all up, like a deranged Pac-Man.
Acer Aspire Vero 16 (2024) Review | An eco-friendly, sustainability-focused laptop?
This has led to a movement towards sustainability in the tech sector, and Acer wants to position itself at the forefront of this movement. To that end, the company has just announced a number of new Vero laptops that are designed with eco-friendly materials.
The first is the Acer Chromebook Vero 514. This computer is made from various recycled plastics (up to 50 percent in the case of some components) and emphasizes increased sustainability, since it is better for the environment to hold on to a computer than to keep buying new ones. According to Acer, this Vero model meets military standards MIL-STD-810H, so you can safely throw it in a backpack, even if you get caught in the rain.
The specs, however, don’t hold back on eco-friendly materials. The Vero 514 starts with an Intel i3 CPU, but goes up to a 12th Gen Intel Core i7 processor. The laptop also features a touch-sensitive color-accurate display, RAM options up to 16GB, and SSD options up to 256GB.
