Acer is launching a new laptop specifically for “casual gamers looking for a well-balanced device.” The Nitro V 16 gets the new powerful AMD Ryzen 8040-series processors (the ones with built-in AI) and Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 40-series GPUs.

The new rig has a dual fan system to keep things cool, which can of course be managed with Acer’s NitroSense utility app. It has one USB 4 Type-C port, two USB 3 ports, HDMI, microSD, and comes with Wi-Fi 6E. Also add a free month of Xbox Game Pass, for gaming on the cheap.

“Acer and AMD continue to collaborate to deliver AI-powered gaming experiences with the latest Nitro laptop, powered by the new AMD Ryzen 8040 Series processors,” said James Lin, general manager of notebooks at Acer, in a statement. “Combined with fast refresh rate display options, enhanced features, and numerous improvements across the board, the Nitro V 16 brings an exciting new AI-ready gaming laptop to the table for all types of gamers.”

The 16-inch display has a 165Hz refresh rate with a 3ms response time, making for smooth animations and solid images. The company also promises a 16:0 widescreen aspect ratio, with speakers using DTS X: Ultra for immersive audio. AI features come into play using the three built-in microphones with AI-powered noise cancellation technology.
