When you’re participating in Microsoft Teams meetings and video calls, you want to focus on the meeting and not worry about your coworkers seeing how messy your office or home is. Luckily, Microsoft Teams offers a feature that lets you blur your background and, even better, use custom background effects to add a little fun to your Teams video conference.
Not everyone can use custom backgrounds in Microsoft Teams. Because Teams is typically managed by corporate IT departments, not everyone who uses Teams can use Background Effects.
Essentially, while Microsoft Teams generally supports the feature, it needs to be rolled out and made available within your company in order for you to take advantage of it. In some cases, you may need to update Teams to see the feature. In other cases, the feature may not appear until a day after your IT department releases it.
If you use Microsoft Teams and don't see the custom backgrounds feature during video calls, contact your company's IT department to ask if the feature is available or when it will be available.
