Like all digital spaces, metaverse destinations need to be designed, programmed, and implemented. There are a wealth of tools to help creators do just that.
Adobe Develops New Metaverse Tools
One such tool is Adobe’s Substance 3D, which just got a huge update, as announced via a press release. For the uninitiated, Substance is sort of Photoshop for 3D space, and is a mainstay of digital animators in creating the worlds found in movies and video games.
It’s also very useful for creating the 3D graphics behind metaverse worlds. For that reason, the update brings a wealth of new tools for budding VR creators. A new SDK lets developers create their own plugins and launch Substance engines into other applications, such as the game creation platform Unity.
A new toolkit also automates some of the more routine and time-consuming tasks involved in creating 3D animations from scratch. Additionally, the update allows Photoshop and Illustrator users to access Substance via a special plug-in.
