Adobe's latest research reveals just how far we've come in communicating with emojis and which are the most commonly used.

According to Adobe’s 2021 Global Emoji Trend Report released Thursday, 67% of global emoji users think people who use emoji are friendlier and funnier than those who don’t. Additionally, more than half of respondents (55%) said using emoji in communications has a positive impact on their mental health.
Another striking finding is that 76% of emoji users worldwide agree that emojis are an essential communication tool to create unity, respect and understanding.
“I believe we respond more emotionally to images, and so emojis can help us better approximate tone of voice, gestures, and emotional responses with images than with words alone,” Paul D. Hunt, Adobe’s typeface and font developer and the creator of the gender-inclusive emoji, wrote in a blog post.
