A file with the ADP file extension is a Microsoft Access file format that contains project information. It communicates directly with a Microsoft SQL Server database, but does not contain tables or queries like ACCDB files.

Other ADP files are less common, but are audio files used in video games or videos downloaded from streaming websites.

ADP files used with Microsoft Access can of course also be opened with the program, but only if you are using a version older than Access 2013. They also do not work with SQL Server 2012 or later.
