Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton spoke out about his hopes for the veteran group's future in an interview with AARP, just weeks after Aerosmith announced it was done with touring for good. He said he believes "the band is still alive," but he also confirmed that there is no scenario in which Aerosmith could ever tour again.

In the interview, he also dismisses the idea of returning to Las Vegas for another residency, indicating that albums are also out of the question… so it's unclear what a resumption of group activities might look like.

Still, Hamilton says that on the hope scale, where 10 represents a solid prospect that the band will be active in some form in the future, "I'm somewhere between a 7 and a 9."
