Honor Duel is a fun AFK Journey game mode because all players start at the same level, regardless of their game progress, hero roster, or the money they put into the game. In this guide, we'll teach you how to dominate Honor Duel.

Honor Duel is a PvP mode in AFK Journey. It selects heroes for one-on-one battles, aiming for nine wins with a maximum of two losses. Three losses ends your run, while nine wins grant more rewards and honor points. Your hero roster does not matter in this mode, as you build a new team each run using honor badges. Hypogean and Celestial Heroes are not available.

In AFK Journey's Honor Duel, you start with a combo of one Artifact, three Heroes, and Honor Badges. These sets are inherently synergistic. Focus on the Artifact you choose, as it will shape your preferred playstyle for the run.

Some Artifacts provide significant stat boosts that are beneficial to different team formations. For example, Proud Graves increases your rear hero’s Attack Speed throughout the fight, making it useful for virtually any formation. Conversely, Oracle Sculpture requires a specific strategy centered around Lyca. This means that when you choose Oracle Sculpture, you’re forced to use her, severely limiting your strategic options. As a general guideline, choose Artifacts that have minimal to no restrictions, such as Faction buffs. This approach allows for some flexibility in your team-building strategy.
