The 1.1. 14 update for AFK Journey is coming on May 10th, introducing the new Song of Strife season on eligible servers. The update’s patch notes reveal some major additions coming with the game’s first seasonal update, but the real highlights are the buffs to Smokey & Meerky.

All the new AFK Journey seasonal content in the 1.1. 14 patch notes is fun and interesting, but why should the only significant change to the 46-character roster be that Smokey & Meerky's aroma remains via the Immobilizing and Blinding effects?

The developer calls these effects "non-interrupting control effects", and as such the duo should be able to continue using their aroma cloud through them. This means that characters like Atalanta, Eironn, and Korin will now no longer be able to stop the duo's massive healing with the same effectiveness, which may not seem like a big deal at first, but it further limits the team compositions you can use against Smokey & Meerky teams in Arena and other PvP modes. Thankfully, Cecia, the duo's most common counter, casts Entangle, so she'll continue to interrupt their healing.

Other heroes like Vala, Cassadee, and Damian received minor adjustments and bug fixes. Florabelle also received a small buff, removing the cooldown for activating Protective Blessing, which will make her Mythic+ versions even more powerful.
