The September 8 session on AI film tools will include the premiere of the short documentary 'Cinema Synthetica'

AI on the Lot has partnered with the Toronto International Film Festival to host a pop-up event next month that will help industry professionals better understand the potential of generative AI tools for visual media.

The presentation aims to showcase how filmmakers are already using AI in storytelling. The session, open to accredited festival-goers, will take place on September 8 in Glenn Gould Studio starting at 3:30 p.m. ET, followed by a happy hour at 5 p.m. The 49th annual Toronto festival runs from September 5 to 15.

AI on the Lot at TIFF also marks the premiere of “Cinema Synthetica,” a short documentary about nine filmmakers who participated in a 48-hour challenge to produce short films using AI tools. The competition was held as part of the AI on the Lot conference in Hollywood in May.
