Apple on Thursday released a beta version of its "Conversation Boost" feature for AirPods Pro, with a public release planned for later this year.
How to Enable Conversation Boost on AirPods
Conversation Boost for AirPods Pro was briefly teased during Apple’s WWDC 2021 in June, but now you can try it out for yourself for the full effect. This new feature is intended to make conversations easier to follow for people with mild hearing loss.
Conversation Boost uses the beaming microphones found in AirPods Pro along with computational audio to focus on and enhance the person speaking in front of you. Ambient Noise Reduction is also used to drown out potentially distracting background noise that can make the conversation harder to understand.
The new software for AirPods Pro lets you turn Conversation Boost on or off as needed, and adjust the amount of ambient noise reduction. You can also adjust the balance more to the left or right depending on your needs at the time.
