The possibility of Apple developing a second generation of AirTags is just a rumor. If they do come, we don't expect it to happen anytime soon.
The bulk of the speculation comes from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who says the success of the current AirTags has inspired Apple to develop a sequel. Further, this rumor says they will launch in 2025.
The key word here is “prediction,” which means there is no evidence to support it; it’s simply what the predictor thinks will happen. Kuo originally suggested that mass production would begin in late 2024.
