The original iPad was Apple's first tablet computer. It was a flat, rectangular computer with a large 9.7-inch touchscreen on the front and a home button in the bottom center of the front.
Using the first iPad… 10 years later
It was introduced on January 27, 2010. It was released on April 3 of that year and was discontinued in March 2011 with the launch of the iPad 2.
It came in six models — 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of storage, and with or without 3G connectivity (provided in the US by AT&T on the first-generation iPad. Later models were supported by other wireless carriers). All models offered Wi-Fi.
The iPad was the first Apple product to feature the A4, a new processor developed by Apple at the time.
