Living Memory is the final area you’ll unlock as you work through the Final Fantasy XIV Dawntrail Main Scenario Quests. The location is vast, and contains several Aether Currents that you’ll need to track down if you want to unlock flight with your mount.

These Aether Currents are crucial to find and can be tricky to track down. Once you have them all, you can fly your mount, making it easier to traverse this area. Luckily for gamers, you have a trusty Aether Compass to track them down with, but you may want to know their exact locations before you go looking for them. They can be time-consuming to find, especially if you haven’t tuned into all of the Aetheryte Crystals here while playing FFXIV.

There are 10 Aether Currents that can be found scattered throughout the Living Memory region in Final Fantasy XIV. However, much like the early regions in the Dawntrail expansion, these areas are unlocked slowly as you progress through the Main Scenario Quests for this region. I recommend working your way through the quests in this area and completing them before hunting down these Aether Currents. You can do them all at once, or grab them as you slowly unlock each quadrant.

Once you have all 10 Aether Currents, the next step is to focus on the ones you unlock in side quests. You’ll unlock four Aether Currents in side quests, and one in a Main Scenario Quest near the end of the Dawntrail expansion. These side quests will take some effort, but tracking them down is relatively easy. They have a clear plus sign next to their quest icon, making them easier to tell apart from the others.
