Cricket Wireless has included 5G coverage in all of its mobile phone plans, but coverage may still be affected based on your region.
Cricket Wireless | Which plan is best? + 5 things to know!
As Engadget notes, 5G used to be an option only on Cricket’s higher-end plans, but it’s now available on all plans. Still, there’s a chance that 5G isn’t available in your area or on your phone model, in which case you won’t be able to take advantage of it. The 8Mbps speed cap still applies to the base Unlimited plan, though, and the two cheapest plans are still subject to data caps.
Depending on what you choose, you may run out of your data allotment faster (2GB or 10GB) and your speed will be throttled to 128Kbps. Both unlimited options do not have these limitations, but also cost more per month.
You can switch to one of Cricket’s plans with your current phone (which requires unlocking it), or you can include the purchase of a new one in your bill. And if you get the $60 Unlimited plan with Mobile Hotspot, some phone models will cost you nothing.
