In 2010, 24 champions were added to the League of Legends roster. In January, it was Yordle Tank Poppy, and a week before the end of the season, it ended with the Medusa-inspired mage Cassiopeia.
The 40 Original Champions of League: Then and Now | League of Legends
In League's second year, Riot Games released a new character almost every patch cycle, and in some cases even released doubles, such as Gragas and Pantheon in February.
What's interesting about this list is how many of these 2010 releases have ultimately been reworked. The most notable are Galio and Urgot, who lost everything from their original debut, as well as Irelia, Xin Zhao, and Pantheon. Others have also recently received art and design overhauls. Of the 24 characters, only Lux and Kennen haven't received full gameplay updates.
Many of these League champions still hold up well in Season 14's ever-changing metagame, including Gragas, Cassiopeia, and Trundle.
