League of Legends’ Season 14 midseason update is arriving with Patch 14.10 in early May, and it’s set to shake up the meta to its core. While there are a ton of changes coming to summoners, many believe the change and removal of runes is the best of them all.

From the complete removal (or “demise”) of powerplay runes like Predator and Lethal Tempo to the creation of new runes for players to try, League Patch 14.10 will change the way players interact with runes forever.
These are the developments regarding the League rune system.
In an April 30 blog post, developers at Riot Games explained exactly why runes were being skipped. "Our biggest goal for 14.10 was to identify the runes in our current system that weren't quite meeting expectations in terms of player satisfaction or were detrimental to the health of the game," developer Alex "scaz" Z said.
