Myst is a popular puzzle video game series from the 90s and early 2000s. The first game, simply called Myst, was released in 1993 and was one of the most challenging games most people had ever played. There are a total of seven different games in the series and while some of them held up to the challenge of the original, there were a few that were relatively easy.

The easiest of all the Myst games was Myst III: Exile. While the last segment of this game was quite challenging, the rest just wasn't up to par with the Mysts that came before it. This was likely due to the franchise being acquired by another development studio; while Cyan created Mysts I and II, Presto Studios, best known for the Journeyman Project games, created Myst III.

Unlike some other Myst titles, Exile requires you to walk over things you couldn’t in previous games, such as dangerous beams, and it takes a while to get used to. Some of the puzzles are a little less intuitive, and the story isn’t as satisfying as previous ones. Overall, Myst III is the weakest of the series narratively, but it’s worth playing if you’re into the lore.

Myst IV brought the Ages back into the hands of Cyan (albeit mostly Ubisoft). This gave fans the very first Myst to go from click-through movement to 3D. There were a lot of growing pains; it makes finding things to interact with a bit more challenging, but the puzzles themselves are fairly simple.
