At an event on its Redmond campus Monday, Microsoft announced “a new category of Windows PCs designed for AI.” The first PCs in the line come from Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung and, of course, Microsoft.
Microsoft's new AI Copilot+ PCs are here and they look fantastic!
All PCs are being developed to work with Microsoft’s Copilot AI, which has replaced the virtual assistant Cortana. Copilot+ brings several new features, such as Recall, which lets you capture and recall your workflow; Live Captioning, which works as a live translation with on-screen subtitles for live and recorded audio; and even image editing capabilities.
Of course, all of these PCs come with Windows 11, and their AI capabilities vary by manufacturer. Here's the full lineup.
The Copilot+ Surface PC line was the one detailed at Microsoft’s event. It features the Snapdragon X Elite and Plus platforms, and includes the Surface Pro and Surface Laptop options. The Surface Pro has a 14-hour battery life, while the Surface Laptop offers 20 hours. The Surface Pro has a 13-inch OLED or LCD HDR display; the Surface Laptop has a 13.8-inch HDR display. Both are touchscreens.
