After fighting your way through about half of the Backpack Battles on a run, you’ll be given a one-time choice to pick up a subclass. This still has to be placed in your pack as a normal item, but it gives you some extra direction and some nice skills and buffs.

Due to the random nature of Backpack Battles, you won’t want to stick with the same Reaper subclass every time unless you’re committed to a single playstyle.
