Romance is a mandatory part of the modern, cozy farming simulator. Fields of Mistria already delivered 10 romantic characters in early access, with two more on the way for the full release.

The relationship mechanics are similar to Stardew Valley. You improve your relationship with the villagers of Mistria by talking to them and giving them food and items. You can only perform these actions once per day. Filling the relationship bar will fill up to four hearts in early access, which defines your relationship status.

You'll know which characters are romantic because they have a heart next to their name and have Single in their diary. You can currently find Adeline, Balor, Celine, Eiland, Hayden, Juniper, March, Reina, Ryis, and Valen romantic. You can find any of these characters romantic, regardless of how your character identifies.

Each character has a list of 10 Loved Gifts and 20 Loved Gifts. Some have easier items and foods to get, while others only love late-game items, so you'll need to be patient if the character you're trying to romance only loves perfect items or high-level recipe foods.
