With the help of its super simple UI and web client support, Google has managed to take on Microsoft and become a strong competitor in the productivity solutions space. Fortunately, the fierce competition has not made Microsoft sour. The tech giant has worked harder to make its software available to everyone, which is why almost all of Microsoft’s leading solutions are available as desktop clients, have clean websites and are even offered on mobile devices.
How to Sort Alphabetically in Word
When it comes to popular products, few can match the legacy of Microsoft Word. It’s easily one of the best in the business, and works seamlessly with Microsoft’s popular video conferencing application, Microsoft Teams. Today, we’re going to help you uncover one of Microsoft Word’s relatively hidden gems and tell you how to alphabetize in Microsoft Word.
Microsoft Word’s popularity isn’t just due to how long it’s been around. It’s also due to the number of features it gives you access to. When it comes to sorting, Microsoft Word isn’t content with just sorting from A to Z — aka alphabetizing — it also gives you the ability to sort by number and even date. When you sort using text — alphabetizing — you’re given two options. You can sort by ascending order or you can choose descending order. When you use ascending order, “A” is at the top and “Z” is at the bottom. Descending order would reverse the polarity.
When you sort numbers in ascending or descending order, the smallest number is at the top or bottom, respectively. The same rule also applies when you sort by dates.
