We purchased the Amazon Fire HD 10 so that our expert reviewer could thoroughly test and review it. Read on for our full product review.
Amazon’s Fire tablets have a reputation for being cheap and cheerful, with the lower-end models particularly popular with families in need of a safe, affordable device to keep young children entertained. They also offer all the functionality of a Kindle, with a host of extra features thanks to the Android OS.
The question remains: Is Amazon’s tablet still only good for streaming content? Or is the Fire HD 10 worth an upgrade for users looking for some light productivity and the many perks that come with a Prime membership? We put the latest Fire tablet to the test to find out.
The Amazon Fire HD 10 is a budget tablet, and it feels that way. Its base is made of a plasticky plastic, and its 10.1-inch size means it’s a little too big to hold comfortably for long periods – the corners of the device start to dig into your palms after a while. We’d definitely recommend investing in a case that lets you stand it upright (which is better for watching streaming content anyway).
