[Unboxing + Review] Brand New Amazon Kindle 10th Generation 2019
The Kindle 10th Generation, or Kindle (2019), is the successor to Amazon’s affordable line of e-readers. It replaces the older non-backlit Kindle and features a bright new display with adjustable brightness for indoors and out. We tested it for two weeks, averaging 30 minutes to an hour of reading per day, and looked at features such as design, battery life, and overall performance.
At 6.3 x 4.5 x 0.34 inches (HWD), the Kindle (2019) is a bit thicker than other models, but it’s still impossibly light at 6.1 ounces. Available in grippy, soft-touch black or white plastic, it can be thrown in a bag or purse for a commute or a flight, making it highly portable. The headline feature is its 6-inch backlit, anti-glare screen for reading in sunlight.
The design is nice, but clearly not as premium as the Kindle Oasis, which has sleek curves and a larger screen. Our only minor gripe with the Kindle’s design is that Amazon has reduced the black bezel, which reduces the amount of space you have to grip the device, making it easier to accidentally turn pages. It’s a minor issue, though, as long as you watch where your fingers are.
