Amazon's new Echo Show 15 smart display has a larger screen, new customizable widgets, and can remember your face.
Amazon Echo Show 15 review: Alexa gets widgets, Visual ID and a mega screen
The Echo Show 15, coming later this year, looks to improve on the previously released Echo Show 10, starting with an improved display. The Echo Show 15 has a 15.6-inch display that supports video streaming up to 1080p, which you can of course use to watch stuff from various streaming services. Or you can ask Alexa to show the photo frame and use it as a very large digital slideshow of pre-loaded photos.
The new smart display also makes use of a number of new widgets. You can view and use a shared calendar, create and leave digital sticky notes and use picture-in-picture.
You can also stand the Echo Show 15 upright on a stand, in portrait or landscape mode, or mount it directly on a wall for a more permanent solution. It won’t track your movements or follow you like previous Echo Show releases, but it does have AI that recognizes when you come into view.
