After a somewhat rocky start due to performance issues, Windows 11 and AMD processors should now start to behave better together.
Fix slow performance issue after update on Windows 11/10 (2024) NEW*
Earlier this month, AMD and Microsoft announced plans to fix a slowdown that was occurring between some AMD processors and Windows 11. As promised, we now have a couple of new patches that should address the issue.
A recent update to AMD's initial report on the issue reveals that there are fixes for both root causes of this performance degradation.
The L3 cache latency issue, which would cause the cache to take up to three times longer to access, is addressed in a new Windows 11 build 22000.282. And the "preferred core" issue, which would incorrectly offload some tasks to a slower processor core, is addressed in AMD's 3.10. 08.506 driver package.
