AMD's latest Radeon RX GPU is ready for 1080p gaming and will hit online stores soon.
It looks good, but can the RX 7600 deliver the performance you need at 1080p, 1440p, and even 4k?
Like the RX 6600 XT before it, the Radeon RX 7600 is optimized for gaming at 1080p resolutions. It also offers better performance than previous RX and RTX GPUs, with AMD claiming 60+ fps and high-fidelity streaming.
Under the proverbial hood is 32MB of Infinity Cache (for faster, smoother visual performance), a max memory limit of 8GB, a 128-bit memory interface, and can reach memory speeds of up to 18Gbps. It also has an HDMI port, supports 4K video rendering, and can handle up to 8K video playback with 12-bit HDR. Ultimately, what this means is better (compared to older models) gaming performance, as well as improved video quality and sharper text if you want to stream your games.
The RX 7600 does require a bit more power than its predecessor, however. While the RX 6600 required a minimum board wattage of 132W and a minimum PSU of 450W, this new GPU requires 165W of board wattage and a minimum PSU of 550W. Something to keep in mind if your system’s power distribution doesn’t leave much wiggle room.
