Google on Tuesday rolled out the full version of Android 12 to Pixel phones, except the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
Google leaves Pixel 3 owners in the lurch: Don't upgrade to Android 12!
The updated operating system, which includes Google’s Material You customization settings as well as updates to Android’s native privacy and security options, is available now for the Pixel 3 and newer Pixel devices. The full list of supported devices includes the Pixel 3 and 3A, Pixel 4 and 4A, as well as the Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5 and 5A (and the upcoming Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, of course).
Google says Android 12 is the most personal operating system yet, with unique options with Material You and various widgets available for its first-party apps. Android 12 has been available on the Android Open Source Project for a few weeks now, and this is the first time it's been available for fully released phones.
New features in Android 12 include the Privacy Dashboard, microphone and camera toggles, and other security options that help highlight the operating system’s strengths. All of these features will also be available on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro when they ship next week, giving new and older Pixel phones alike some enhanced features to take advantage of.
