Ever wished you could save space on your Android device without having to delete apps? With Android 15, you’ll soon be able to. Google is working on an exciting new feature called “App Archiving” that will free up space without having to delete apps.
How to Enable Android's New Automatic Archiving Feature to Free Up Storage Space
App Archiving will soon let you save space without having to uninstall an app and then reinstall it when you need it again. Archiving is available on the App Info page. On Android 15, you’ll see a new Archive option there. Tapping it will immediately free up a lot of the space the app was taking up.
You can use this free space for all sorts of purposes, from storing more photos and videos to installing new apps and whatever else you need.
Whenever you want to use the app again, simply tap Restore on the App Info page to restore the app to your device. After restoring, you will find all your app data and accounts intact.
