Sonic x Shadow Generations is a remake of Sonic Generations. SEGA added a ton of new modes, content, and improvements to the original game, as well as some more subtle changes.

It’s hard to tell what’s been added, taken away, or changed from the original without paying attention to a few specific activities, cutscenes, and other things. Most of the changes are actually quite minor outside of the big new mode and a few extra collectibles you can find in levels.

The obvious big addition in Sonic x Shadow Generations is the addition of the Shadow Generations story mode, which lets you play as Shadow through an all-new story while progressing through older levels as you go. We won’t go too deep into this change, as it’s pretty obvious, and there are much more subtle changes we could point out instead.
