Apex Legends overhauled its entire armor system in Season 20, with new ways to level up Evo and the introduction of Legend Upgrades, allowing each character to be customized during the match.

Season 22, as usual, introduced a number of new perks and upgrades, along with dropping some old ones, or even carrying them over and incorporating them into the base kits of various legends. Players who level up their Evo shields will gain the standard shield health increase, along with a choice between two perks at Evo levels two and three. These legendary perks range from granting new passive abilities, giving a second use on cooldown, or vastly changing the way an ability functions at the cost of negative trade-offs.

Apex players can earn Evo levels by doing more than just fighting. They can help teammates with reviving and respawning, or by interacting with the world via Survey Beacons, Ring Consoles, or Evo Harvesters. These now all contribute points toward the next Evo level. This makes it easier for teams of all playstyles to earn higher armor levels during a match and unlock these crucial perks for their Legends.
