Apple says the jelly-like wobbling experienced by owners of the latest iPad mini is completely normal.
iPad Mini – Tips & Tricks! (6th Generation)
Since its launch, users of the sixth-generation iPad mini have complained about a strange wobbling phenomenon on their devices. Twitter users have even posted videos showing the wobbling in action, with one side scrolling at a different speed than the other. However, according to a report from Ars Technica, an Apple spokesperson told the publication that the wobbling is completely normal for the device's LCD display.
The gelatinous scrolling doesn’t detract from the iPad mini’s functionality, but it can still be annoying. It seems like the effect is much more noticeable in portrait mode than in landscape mode.
According to Ars Technica, the Apple spokesperson said that because the LCD screen refreshes line by line, there is a slight delay between the top and bottom of the screen. They refresh at different intervals, and this causes the uneven scrolling.
