When Apple announced iOS 16 and watchOS 9, several new useful features were revealed, but there are even more health and fitness tracking plans.
How Sleep Tracking Gets BETTER with iOS 16 and watchOS 9 for iPhone and Apple Watch!
We’ve known about several updates planned for iOS 16 and watchOS 9 since Apple’s most recent WWDC, but the company has even more planned for health monitoring. A new report details much of what we can expect to see in both upcoming operating systems, with a focus on 17 different areas of health and fitness. And the ability to store more than 150 types of user health data.
Activity monitoring, heart health, and sleep monitoring aren’t the only things Apple can (or will) track for you. Mobility monitoring can detect a fall or unsteadiness. Mindfulness exercises can help with meditation and focus. Specialized workout recommendations for pregnancy, as well as cycle and menstrual tracking, are also included. Medication scheduling and medical screening options, too
COVID-19 and other important public health monitoring features are available, such as vaccination data, potential exposure notifications, and even handwashing reminders. And that’s exactly what Apple brings to the table: There are also a ton of third-party HealthKit-compatible apps available or in the works. Apps that specialize in specific aspects of health, such as Qardio’s blood pressure monitoring, One Drop’s blood glucose readings, or MIR Smart One’s respiratory metrics.
